Staff_How do I access Simple Syllabus as a Dual Credit instructor?
Navigate to your course in Canvas.
TIP: This is the course on your Canvas dashboard that includes the term information. A syllabus has to be filled out for each one you are teaching.Click on MySyllabus located in your Canvas course menu.
TIP: If MySyllabus (not to be confused with Syllabus) is missing click here for instructions to enable it.Click on Edit syllabus.
The following components are available for editing.
a. Course Information *Required to be updated.
Use this section to input the mode of delivery, meeting location, meeting days/times, course start/end dates, type of instruction, and textbook as seen in the helper text located on the right side.
b. Instructor Information *Required to be updated.
Fill out the following information:
Instructor Name (required)
Email (required)
Phone Number (not required)
Preferred Communication (required)
Expectations of Response Time (required)
Office hours and Student Connect Time (required)
Headshot (not required)
TIP: Instructors are populated on your syllabus based on the information provided by Canvas. To hide additional instructors, use the edit option and choose Hide. Students will no longer see them listed on your syllabus.
d. Course Schedule *You must choose from one of two course schedule options.
Option one allows you to sync your assignment due dates directly from Canvas. Please note that all edits to due dates need to be made in Canvas. Do not manually edit the due dates in your Syllabus.
Option two allows fill in the course schedule of your choice. Use the editing tools to create a table, list, etc.
e. Student Effort *Required to be updated.
List the effort the student needs to put into the course. Helper text is available for in person or online.
f. Grade Expectations *Required to be updated.
Provide any grade expectations for the course.
g. Assessment Information
Remove or add assessment information as it applies to your course.
i. Late Work
Explain the expectations for late work.
j. Personal Electronic Use
List any personal electronic use policies for the course.
TIP: If this is left blank it will not appear on your syllabus.
9. Once you are finished scroll to the bottom and click on Submit.
TIP: Submit will publish your syllabi immediately for students/staff to see. If you wish to continue without publishing click on Close.
Log into the Simple Syllabus website.
TIP: Your NTC user name ends in @ntc.edu
This is also the same username and password you use to log into your NTC email or NTC Canvas.The dashboard in Simple Syllabus will provide you with a list of all of your To Do and Completed syllabi. Locate your course(s) under the To Do column and click the edit icon.
TIP: If you see the same course listed twice or not seeing all of your courses? Please contact Tracy.

4. Once finished scroll to the bottom and click on Submit. If the Submit button is grey click on the blue exclamation point to find out which component needs to be completed yet.
TIP: Submit will publish your syllabi immediately for students/staff to see. If you wish to continue without publishing click on Close.
Log into the Simple Syllabus website.

Click on Replace with a different syllabus?
TIP: It may also say Would you like to import a syllabus?Click the term drop-down box.
Select the Historic term.
Make a note of the last three digits of the course number. In this example, the last three digits are 241.
From the available syllabi, find one that ends in 241. Terms of the old syllabi are listed below each one. To import it into your current syllabus, click on one.
You should only have to wait a few moments for the import to process.
Use the scroll bar on the right to scroll through the syllabus, make any necessary edits, and ensure all required components have content.
When finished, scroll to the bottom and click on submit.
TIP: If submit is greyed out, there is a component on the syllabus that needs to be completed.When this window appears you have completed your syllabus! Go ahead and click close.
