Student Microsoft Products (Office 365) for Windows

As a NTC student you are entitled to Microsoft Office products at no cost. You can install Office on up to five personal devices.

Installing Office 365

  1. Sign into your NTC student account through https://office.com.

  2. Go to Apps in the menu on the left-hand side.

  1. Click on install apps, then click on Microsoft 365 apps.

  1. On the new page, click on install office.

  1. You should now see a popup that a file has downloaded. Double click on that file.

NOTE: Depending on which web browser you are using the download options may look different.

  1. If you have any other Office applications currently open, you will be prompted to save your work.

NOTE: Make sure you save any changes you have made in any Office application before clicking continue, as it will forcibly close any open documents.

  1. If you receive a User Account Control pop up asking “Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device” click on Yes.

  1. Microsoft Office will automatically start downloading and installing.

NOTE: Depending on your internet speed, this may take half an hour or more.

  1. Click Close.

  1. Click on the search bar at the bottom of your screen, and type in any Microsoft Office Application (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc). Then click on it to open.

  1. A sign-in/activation prompt will pop up, type in your NTC student email. Click next.

  1. Type in your NTC student password.

NOTE: This is the same password you use for Canvas, Workday, etc.

  1. You will get a prompt for Authenticator, go ahead and authenticate.

  1. You will get a prompt to sign into all apps, click “no, this app only.”

NOTE: If you select yes, it may affect how your computer operates because it will put NTC’s policies onto your personal device. To remove the policies, sign out and sign back in again.

  1. Your Microsoft Office software is active now. You are now able to use all Microsoft Office apps.

  1. If a license agreement pops up, click Accept.
