Student Microsoft Authenticator

WARNING: A smart phone (iOS or Android device) is required to activate multifactor authentication on your NTC account. If you do not have a compatible device, please call the IT Help Desk at 715-803-1160 for alternative instructions.

NOTE: You will need to go through the instructions while you are signing into Canvas/Workday/Email on a computer, and use Microsoft Authenticator on your phone.

Multifactor authentication is an added layer of security that sends a confirmation notification to your phone or device of your choice when you log into any NTC system with your NTC student account. It strengthens access security by requiring two methods (also referred to as factors) to verify your identity.

This prevents someone else from gaining access to your personal information, if they somehow gain access to your NTC password.

Steps to Setup Microsoft Multifactor Authentication:

  1. When accessing NTC resources such as your NTC student email or Canvas for the first time, you will be prompted for more information as shown below.
