Staff_Duo Authentication into NTC Web Applications

The IT department will be enforcing Duo 2-factor authentication for all NTC web apps (e.g. Canvas, Office 365, NTC Help Desk, Starfish, Zoom, etc.). 2-factor authentication makes it more difficult for someone other than yourself to sign-in to your NTC web apps. This is part of NTC’s continuous effort to enhance overall security and protect your accounts from unauthorized access.

Instructions

  • Open your web browser and navigate to an NTC web app such as Canvas, Office 365, NTC Help Desk, Starfish, Zoom, etc.

  • If prompted, enter your NTC username and password and click Sign In. If you are currently on campus and using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge, you will not be prompted to enter username or password and will be taken directly to the next step.

  • If you have Duo 2-factor authentication on your smartphone, it should prompt you for a DUO push, click approve. However, if you have a key fob, it will ask for a code.

  • You will now get a new screen letting you know it was successful.

  • After that, you will be asked if you want to trust this browser, click Yes.

  • You have successfully Duo 2-factor authenticated and will be automatically logged into the single-sign on application

You only need to sign into one NTC web app per web browser. If you open a new tab and visit a different web app, you will not need to Duo 2-factor authenticate again.

If you close and re-open your web browser, you will be required to Duo 2-factor authenticate again when visiting an NTC web app.
